Valencia Wells, O.D.

Valencia Wells, O.D. - President
Morris Avenue Eyecare

Dr. Valencia Wells, a native of Gallion, Alabama, received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Alabama and, in 2009, earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the UAB School of Optometry. She is the owner of Morris Avenue Eyecare, located in the historic downtown Birmingham area.  Dr. Wells is making history as the first black president of the ALOA. She also serves on the UABSO Alumni Association Board of Directors and Dean’s Strategic Advisory Board. Dr. Wells serves as an eye care consultant for several local TV stations with annual segments promoting children's eye health, diabetic eye health, and glaucoma awareness.  Some of her honors include Best in Birmingham Eyecare Office, Who’s Who America’s Top Doctors, Birmingham Magazine’s Most Influential Under 40 Honoree, ALOA Young Optometrist of the Year, Minority Business Awards Medical Professional of the Year, Birmingham Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 and Woman to Watch, and UABSO Young Alumnus of the Year. Dr. Wells strongly believes in investing in our local youth by organizing several hands-on workshops through STEM programs that expose young girls to science, technology, engineering, and math professions. Monthly, she provides free community vision screenings and free eye exams for children without insurance. She has been married to Willie Wells, III, since 2008.

Patricia Fulmer, O.D.

Patricia Fulmer, O.D. - President-Elect

Dr. Patricia Fulmer is a 2012 graduate of the UAB School of Optometry. After completing an ocular disease/primary care residency at the Thomas E. Creek VA Hospital, she returned to Alabama to practice in Huntsville, first as the Center Director of VisionAmerica Huntsville, then as a primary care associate doctor. In 2020, Dr. Fulmer opened her own cold start practice in South Huntsville, where she provides full-scope primary and specialty care to her community. Dr. Fulmer has a passion for advocacy and leadership and has served the ALOA since 2015 through her local society, the ALOA Board of Directors, and the Executive Board. She is dedicated to ensuring optometry is protected, advanced, and given the tools needed to practice contemporary eye care without hindrance in Alabama and nationwide. Dr. Fulmer has been married to her husband, Mark, since 2019. They currently live in South Huntsville with their tuxedo cat, Baxter, and black lab, Ares.

Gussie Branch, O.D.

Gussie Branch, O.D. - Secretary-Treasurer
Eyes on Albertville

Dr. Gussie Branch is a native of Clay County, Alabama, and currently resides in Marshall County, where she owns and practices at her two locations, Eyes on Albertville and Eyes on Guntersville. A 2012 graduate of Judson College with a degree in Chemistry, Dr. Branch went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the UAB School of Optometry in 2016. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the UABSO Alumni Association and the Albertville Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she is an active member of the Albertville Rotary Club and Central Baptist Church. Dr. Branch was honored as the ALOA Young Optometrist of the Year in 2021 and Young Alumnus of the Year by UABSO in 2025. She lives in Albertville with her husband, Caleb, and their two children, Eliza and Joseph.

Tim Ansley, O.D.

Tim Ansley, O.D. -Immediate Past President
Inverness Eye Care

Dr. Tim Ansley is a native of Helena, AL, and completed his undergraduate studies at Samford University in 2009. He attended the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Optometry, where he was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa National Optometric Honor Society, Vice President of the American Optometric Student Association, and founder and President of UABSO's sports vision club. Dr. Ansley completed his training at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, Retinal Consultants of Alabama, and Cool Springs Eye Care of Franklin, Tennessee. He was appointed to the ALOA Leadership Optometry Class in 2017 and to the ALOA board of directors in 2018. Dr. Ansley was awarded "Young Optometrist of the Year" by the Alabama Optometric Association in 2019. Dr. Ansley served as President of the Birmingham Area Optometric Society in 2018 and President of the ALOA in 2025.

Molly Tipton, OD

Molly Tipton, O.D.- North Region
Southern Vision Eye Care

Dr. Tipton graduated from UAB School of Optometry in 2018. She now provides comprehensive eye care in Oneonta, where she is the owner of Southern Vision Eye Care. She is a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church along with her Husband and two sons. She also serves on the Blount-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce Board and graduated from the ALOA Leadership Institute in 2025.

Spencer Boozer, O.D.

Boozer Eyecare

Dr. Spencer Boozer is a proud native of Cullman and has served Cullman and the surrounding communities’ eye care needs for the past 8 years. Dr. Spencer Boozer received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University. While at Auburn, Dr. Boozer was active in many organizations and worked on staff for the University in student orientation and community service programs. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the UAB School of Optometry in 2017. He is an alumnus of the AOA Leadership Institute and currently serves on the UABSO Alumni Board and the VisionAmerica Advisory Board. In 2024, Dr. Boozer was awarded the ALOA Young Optometrist of the Year. Dr. Boozer practices full-scope, primary-care optometry for all ages and specializes in hard-to-fit contact lenses. He has a passion for skiing, world travel, and new experiences. Dr. Boozer currently resides in Cullman with his dog, Denver.

Jonathan Gravlee O.D.

Dr. Jonathan Gravlee was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. He now practices in Hoover, Alabama, where he is passionate about providing exceptional eye care to his community. Outside the office, Dr. Gravlee enjoys traveling with his wife and their two daughters—with a third on the way—and spending time on the golf course with friends.

Seth Williams, O.D.

Dr. Seth Williams is an owner and optometrist at Pelham Eye Center. Dr. Williams graduated from the UAB School of Optometry in 2006 and served Shelby County for 18 years.  He is a past president of the Birmingham Optometric Association and is also currently the chair of Education Ambassadors with the Southern Council of Optometrists (SECO).  He is a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church.

Laura Osmer, O.D.

Dr. Osmer earned her undergraduate degree in 2004 from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the UAB School of Optometry. Her practice continues to grow and prosper due to her dedication to her patients and her understanding of the community’s eye and healthcare needs. Her years of skillful practice have led to her primary interest – managing and treating dry eye disease, which led her to establish Luminary Eyes + Aesthetics as a part of her practice, Eufaula Eye Associates.

Samara Perryman, O.D.

Dr. Samara Perryman is a highly distinguished, full-scope optometrist in Greenville, Alabama. Dr. Perryman, originally from Trussville, Alabama, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University. She was subsequently accepted and began attending the UAB School of Optometry. While completing her Doctor of Optometry at UABSO, Dr. Perryman was awarded the 2017 ALOA Leadership Award and the 2017 Good-Lite Award of Excellence in Pediatric Optometry. She has served numerous Optometry and Civil organizations, such as the UABSO Alumni Board and Rotary Club of Greenville, and was a member of the 2024 AOA Leadership Institute Program. Dr. Perryman's special interests include pediatrics, treatment, and management of ocular disease, including dry eyes, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. When not in the office, Dr. Perryman enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, their son and daughter, and their yellow lab.

Sierra Perry, OD

Sierra Perry, O.D.-Member-at-Large

Dr. Sierra Perry is a primary care optometrist in private practice located in Mobile, Alabama. Sierra is a native resident of Mobile and is a 2014 graduate of UAB School of Optometry, where awarded the Dean’s Award of Excellence. She enjoys traveling, serving her community, and spending time with her family and friends. She is a proud Pomeranian Mom to Rex and Roxy.
