2026 Young Optometrist of the Year Award

This award will be presented to a qualified Alabama Doctor of Optometry in recognition of outstanding service to the Alabama Optometric Association (ALOA), to the profession of optometry, on behalf of the visual welfare of the public and/or to their community.

GUIDELINES FOR SELECTION

1. Nominations may be made by any member or local society of the Alabama Optometric Association.
2. Nominees must have been an active or educator class member of the Alabama Optometric Association for at least two (2) consecutive years (excluding student membership).
3. Nominees must have been in practice ten (10) years or less.
4. All nominations must have supporting qualifications listed to assist the Awards Committee in their consideration.
5. Nominations MUST BE SUBMITTED BY AUGUST 14, 2026, to be considered.
6. The decision of the Awards Committee is final.
