ALOA 2026 Optometric Educator of the Year Award

The Alabama Optometric Association Optometric Educator of the Year Award recognizes the deserving individual member educator for performance of outstanding services on behalf of the profession, optometric education, and to the visual welfare of the public. (Nominee’s eligibility should not be restricted to service rendered during the year the award is to be presented.)

GUIDELINES FOR SELECTION

1. Nominees must hold a full-time, part-time, or adjunct faculty appointment at an accredited school or college of optometry.
2. Nominees must be an ALOA/AOA members in good standing.
3. The current President and President-Elect of the Association and the previous year’s recipient of the award will not be eligible for this year’s award.
4. All nominations must be accompanied by supporting information and data to assist the Awards Committee in its consideration of the nominations for the award.
5. Nominations MUST BE SUBMITTED BY AUGUST 14, 2026, in order to be considered.
6. The decision of the Awards Committee is final.
